Flat and easy along the beach road. Coffee at the end.
- Go before 10 or after 4 for the breeze
- Lock the bike at the beach-road cafes, not on the sand
8 km · 35 minOld Town
Narrow streets, carved doors, the fort. Go early, go slow.
- Walk the bike through the narrowest lanes
- Fort Jesus opens at 8; the museum ticket is separate
10 km · 45 minVillage tour
A guided ride to a nearby Mijikenda village: homesteads, crafts and everyday coast life. Best with a guide.
- Ask us to arrange a guide and a village welcome
- Go in the morning; carry water and a little cash for crafts
6 km · 25 minHaller Park
Giraffes, tortoises and shade. Leave the bike at the gate.
- Giraffe feeding is at 11 and 3
- Bikes stay locked at the gate; the walk inside takes about an hour
6 km · 25 minButterfly Pavilion
A tropical garden of free-flying butterflies, next to Haller Park. Shady and calm.
- Mornings are best, when the butterflies are most active
- Lock the bike at the gate; the walk inside is gentle
4 km · 20 minTamarind and the creek
Down to the water at Tudor Creek. Best in the evening.
- Sunset is the time; lights on for the ride back
- The hill back up is the only climb
5 km · 20 minThe creek from the arches
Cross the bridge for the view back over Nyali. Bring a camera.
- Use the footpath on the bridge, not the road
- Busy at rush hour; mid-morning is calm
